Welcome back, Reader!
My name is Jordan and this is a story inspired by the creatures and land around me. The title of this tale is The Blue Beacon, and it’s the first in a planned series of novels called The Cascadia Chronicles.
This story was written in some form since I was small, looking at mammal guides in our back seat of our Caravan on drives through Yellowstone, poring over Redwall like sacred text, and playing with Battle Beasts on the stairs.
So I’m the conduit and this will be told in my voice. But like all creative work, I believe this story is for you, a gift from the indwelling spirit of the Creator.
The point is, the plan here is to entertain. Here’s what you can expect as The Blue Beacon unfolds: the beginning of a great war; descriptions of mouthwatering meals; calamitous fight scenes; four mammal companions; mysterious dreams; a post-apocalyptic mammal society built amidst the ruins of Oregon; absolutely zero human beings; and much, much more!
How This Will Work
The Blue Beacon will be serialized. Paid subscribers will get one chapter of The Blue Beacon every weekday morning for the couple months or so. The first five posts will be free for everyone to read.
(Note: For cost efficiency—the price of a monthly subscription—wait until the book is complete, subscribe for a month, and read every chapter then. If you’re a family of readers and finances are an issue, I am glad to offer comps.)
Our story will begin tomorrow with the opening scroll, a map, and a brand-new prologue. We’ll continue through the week with new versions of the first three chapters, and we’ll be off from there. Each chapter will be headed with artwork.
Reader, here is where you factor in: this is a work in progress. I have written and rewritten this book, and you are the audience who will help me refine the final draft. You will help simply by reading, yet I’m also eager to hear your feedback. If you get a vibe—if you especially enjoy a passage, or anything feels off—please let me know by leaving a comment, posting in the subscriber chat, or replying to your email. I will be happy to answer.
To finally share this story is an honor and joy for which I am grateful to be a part. I hope you’re entertained and blessed by these tales. I am honored to bring you The Blue Beacon. We’ll begin, as a fantasy nerd might say, on the ‘morrow!
Your author,
Jordan Green

I am so excited for this. I was obsessed with battle beasts when I was younger.
Battle Beasts were so dang cool. I ended up building my collection. A few years back so Lana could play with them.
